ARTIST STATEMENT

LoVid's works explore the invisible or intangible aspects of contemporary society; communication systems, biological signals, human connection, and the various ways technology seeps into human culture and perception. Throughout multiple projects, LoVid maintains a signature visual and sonic aesthetic of color, pattern, and texture density, incorporating glitch and noise. Navigating between the handmade and the machine-produced LoVid’s work captures an intermixed world layered with virtual and physical, materials and simulations, fantasy and reality, hope and despair, connectivity and isolation.

 

LoVid’s work has been exhibited, performed, screened, and presented internationally at venues including: VSOP Projects, Marquee Projects, SPRING/BREAK Art Show, And/Or Gallery, Parrish Museum, Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, Real Art Ways, Good Children Gallery, BRIC, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, Issue Project Room, Mixed Greens Gallery, The Science Gallery Dublin, The Jewish Museum, MoMA, Lampo, Tectonics Festival Tel Aviv, The Kitchen, Moving Image Art Fair, Daejeon Museum (Korea), Smack Mellon, Netherland Media Art Institute, New Museum, ICA (London), and International Film Festival Rotterdam.
